Tracking The Tropics (07/31/2019) PM

Writer's picture: MS Weather NetworkMS Weather Network

Good evening everyone, Mississippi Weather Network here with a #TropicalUpdate as we are watching an area of unorganized activity in the Eastern Atlantic ocean right now. This system, currently known as Invest 96L, will be moving over an area that should allow for further tropical development over the next 3-5 days. The NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center has given this activity an 70 percent chance of development into a name tropical system. If/when this storm does become named, it will be known as "Chantel". MWN will be watching this storm very closely as it gains strength over the lesser Antilles, but at this time most models are showing this storm returning back to the East into the open Atlantic. We remind you that it is #HurricaneSeason so these storms can always be unpredictable, so keep your plan in place and follow Mississippi Weather Network as we will continue #TrackingTheTropics throughout #HurricaneSeason2019! #MSwx #WeatherNetwork #Mississippi #GulfOfMexico #MSwxMedia
