March 17th, 2021, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Organization Storm Prediction Center updated their convective outlook for the Severe Weather Outbreak and placed Mississippi in a HIGH RISK (5/5). As storms began to develop some weak spin up tornadoes were reported, but nothing that set it off as a "HIGH RISK," but the state of Mississippi did have a total of 4 brief tornado touchdowns.
The first one was in Lincoln County Mississippi. It was rated an EF-1 with winds peaked at an estimated 95mph. It was reported that is was close to 120 yards wide. The tornado was tracked for a total of 6 miles. It formed at the intersection of Old Malcum and Hopewell Road, was tracked Northeast.
The second Tornado was spotted around the Beauregard community in Copiah County. This brief tornado was spotted around Martinsville Road and tracked east-northeast for about a mile. Winds were reported around an estimated 100mph. Damage reported were mainly uprooted trees, snapped trees, and downed power lines.
